The Trent Barton “The Allestree” Blue or Green busses from Albert Street, Derby City Centre, stops alongside the Mundy Play Centre. The same bus may be caught to get back into town.

The Park
The park covers 207 acres and consists of open grass land, small wooded areas, secluded areas, a lake and brooks
There are areas of the park that cater for families, sports and interests.
The Mundy Play Centre
The recently refurbished play area has lots to offer families with children of all ages catered for.

The Walled Garden
The Walled Garden including the beautiful bothy is a fantastic feature of the park and was taken over by the Friends of Markeaton Park with its grand opening in August 2015. For more information see our dedicated Walled Garden Page.
Sports On the Park
Over by the main car park the new hard surfaces tennis courts are situated.
You can play a nine-hole pitch and putt or foot golf.
There is a 5 km Park Run held every Saturday morning at 9.00 am. This is free to enter. For further details, go to www.parkrun.org.uk/markeaton
There is also a 2 km Junior Parkrun held every Sunday morning at 9.00 am. Junior parkruns are completely free, and for 4 - 14 year olds.
There are several football pitches and a cricket pitch.
The lake offers the facilities for fishing with several platforms for disabled fishermen. The lake and the fishing are maintained by the Earl of Harrington Fishing Club, for further information contact them on www.theearlofharringtonsac.co.uk.
You can also hire rowing boats and pedalos for fun on the water.
